I'm a first-year law student at Penn Law, and an UCLA alum. My parents wanted me to get a degree in engineering or accountant. It didn't work out evidently.
I was born in Shanghai, grew up in Vancouver, and studied in Los Angeles. Each city left an imprint on me—whether that's an intense love for skyscrapers, the world's fluffiest snow, or overpriced coffee. And of course, like every LA girl, I'm also into film and food. I'm especially obsessed with the visual aesthetics of food—meticulously garnishing my kimchi fried rice with green onions and sesame on top, or whipping up a matcha Dalgona recipe; I'm drawn to studying the intricate processes of our food production system, and its implications both on the environment and on the invisible food workers behind them. My projects reconcile these two passions.
